선수 소개

Thoughts on opponent, Henrique da Silva? Well he has fight rhythm; he has been competing a lot the past couple of years. I haven’t fought for a couple years, so it’s normal to have a bit of ring rust. He is young and hungry, but that’s it. The story ends there. I won about 83 fights and had 59 knockouts; he is going to be number 60. Of course, he is only going for the takedown and will try to work his wrestling and jiu-jitsu on me. He will not have the guts to fight me on the feet and I can’t blame him. As always, we have a gameplan, so he can try the takedowns. I think his career will end in Tokyo, but the bright side is, it’s done by me. Forever in my highlights, there is no shame in that, my friend.

When and why did you start training for fighting? I started as a teenager. I played soccer on a high level and my father didn’t allow me to kickbox. I always was fascinated by martial arts and grew up with all those great movies from Bruce Lee to Jean Claude Van Damme. At one point, I took my soccer bag and I would smuggle my kickboxing stuff in it and would skip my soccer practice and go to the kickboxing lessons. Or I would go before or after my soccer practice. That’s where it all started.

What ranks and titles have you held?

Do you have any heroes? Certainly, I have persons I look up to. You can get inspired by people, their struggle, and what they have accomplished after they have endured the obstacle called life. One of those persons in particular for me is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? I’m honored to be a part of a new family, a family that is filled with the best martial arts brothers in the world. And like in every family, I know want to show which brother is the strongest.

Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I went to high school and I started my fighting career early. I started making money and a living out of it at a young age.

What was your job before you started fighting? I had no job. I was a young kid in high school who started off making money by beating up people legally. So who needs a job at that point?
