TRAINING: I train 3 times a day, 6 days a week at Nova Uniao under Andre Pederneiras. Our training includes Muay Thai, wrestling, Jiu Jitsu techniques, conditioning and lots of sparring.
Thoughts on opponent, Matt Brown? I am hungry for this victory and will do whatever it takes to get it.
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started training when I was 14 at the old Ruas Vale Tudo Team in Rio de Janeiro.
What ranks and titles have you held? South American Shooto Champion, Shooto World Champion, WOCS Grand Prix Champion
Do you have any heroes? My father, who raised 5 children on his own
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s the realization of a dream to fight in the UFC and an honor to have the opportunity to fight in the first UFC in Rio de Janeiro.
What was your job before you started fighting? I was a glazer, panel builder and I managed a franchise at one point.
Specific accomplishments in pro competition? Entry in the UFC; this changes everything
Favorite grappling technique: Triangle
Favorite Striking technique: 1-2 combos with kicks
