TRAINING: Run, train striking with Ibere Reis (Muay Thai coach) in the morning, and train BJJ at night with my master, partner, and friend, Marco Alvan
When and why did you start training for fighting? I started in Rio de Janeiro in 1994, and went from White to Black Belt with the master Wander Braga. I was looking for a sport that would fit my size and abilities.
What ranks and titles have you held? Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt. 2006 Mundials Champion, Heavyweight BJJ Black Belt GP 2004 Champion/ ADCC Trials Brazil Champion and ADCC 2005 second place, four-time BJJ national Champion / five-time Sao Paulo State Champion
Do you have any heroes? Rickson Gracie
What is your favorite technique? Arm bar.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means a lot! To fight in UFC is a dream to all fighters and it is the same to me. I will give my best! I will not lose that chance! I think right now it's Napao's time!!!
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? To be a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu you have to spend years of your life dedicated to the art. My college was BJJ.
What was your job before you started fighting? Bouncer/Bodyguard.
