선수 소개
TRAINING: The Texas heat will make a man out of you. I have the advantage of training in the Texas Heat and Houston humidity. A lot of guys like to brag about high altitude- but believe me it ain’t s**t compared to this Texas heat… People come from out of state and try training in this weather and will drop dead. Texas athletes are forced to build mental toughness dealing with this sauna-like atmosphere…… Training partners nicknamed me Maniac Moore because I work so hard it was like training with a maniac.
Thoughts on opponent, Shane Roller? You can’t take anyone for granted in this sport. At this level everyone is tough, but I never have believed in overevaluating opponents. Sure, I’ll gather what info and some tape on him if its available, but I don’t let that influence my strong points in the bout.
When and why did you start training for fighting? It’s the classic story of amateur wrestler turned mixed martial artist. I didn’t turn pro right away because I wanted to give myself a few years of fine tuning my technique in every aspect of this game… I have over 350 combined amateur wrestling matches, Jiu Jitsu matches, Kick Boxing and MMA bouts - I have a lot of ring savvy and confidence in my ability…. I like to go out and represent Texas each and every time I compete and showcase that Texas produces the best athletes in the Nation P4P.
What ranks and titles have you held? Ring of Combat Welterweight Champion, Shooto Americas Welterweight Champion, 1st ever Arnold Classic MMA Welterweight Champion.
Do you have any heroes? None
What is your favorite technique? Big Elbow to the face (the Bionic Elbow). The TAKEDOWN!! (I loved it in wrestling when you take someone down and everyone yells “TWO!!!”)
What does it mean for you to fight in the WEC? It means the world to me. This is my opportunity and my time; I am going to go for it. If you’re not in MMA to make it to this level then what the hell are you doing?
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? I got my degree on the mats.
What was your job before you started fighting? You name I’ve done it (except shovel s**t - my Dad always says: “Boy, at least you’re not shoveling s**t like I used to”).
