Headlining Bouts set for Nov. Event in Austin

The main and co-main event bouts for the UFC’s visit to Austin, Texas on November 22 are set, and fight fans in the Lone Star State will see two pivotal matchups as former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar faces top contender Cub Swanson in the five-round featherweight main event, and Brazilian bomber Edson Barboza takes on Bobby “King” Green in a battle of exciting 155-pound standouts.

Tickets for this event at the Frank Erwin Center, the UFC's first in Austin since September of 2010, go on sale on Friday, October 17.

Currently ranked number two and three at 145 pounds, respectively, Swanson and Edgar are on a collision course, with the eventual goal being a shot at the featherweight title Jose Aldo and Chad Mendes will fight for this October at UFC 179. The lightweight champion of the world from 2010 to 2012, Edgar has since moved to the 145-pound division, where he has won his last two bouts, defeating Charles Oliveira and BJ Penn. Swanson has been on a tear as of late, winning six straight, including recent victories over Dustin Poirier, Dennis Siver, and Jeremy Stephens.

The lightweights in the co-main event are on hot streaks that are just as impressive, with knockout artist Barboza (#11 at 155 pounds) winning four of his last five, most recently a first round stoppage of Evan Dunham, and Green (#7) emerging victorious in eight in a row, a stretch that has seen him defeat James Krause, Pat Healy, and Josh Thomson.
