By the Numbers: UFC 65 vs. UFC 165

UFC 65 took place on November 18th, 2006 in Sacramento, California with two title fights, while UFC 165 is September 21st, 2013 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with two title fights. To see how different things are 100 numbered UFCs later, we took a then-and-now look at the events.
UFC 65 was headlined by Matt Hughes (c) vs. Georges St-Pierre for the welterweight title. The co-main was Tim Sylvia (c) vs. Jeff Monson for the heavyweight title.

UFC 165 is headlined by Jon Jones (c) vs. Alexander Gustafsson for the light heavyweight title. The co-main event is Renan Barao (c) vs. Eddie Wineland.

Title challenger Georges St-Pierre entered the Octagon at UFC 65 with a record of 12-1.

Title challenger Georges St-Pierre had previously fought for the UFC welterweight championship (against none other than Matt Hughes), but lost.
Title challenger Eddie Wineland previously held the WEC bantamweight championship.

Tim Sylvia was making his second heavyweight title defense at UFC 65; Renan Barao looks for his second defense of the interim-bantamweight belt at UFC 165.

Six UFC 65 stars are still in the UFC as fighters: Nick Diaz, Gleison Tibau, Alessio Sakara, Frank Mir, Brandon Vera and Georges St-Pierre. Matt Hughes remains with the UFC as Vice President of Athletic Development and Government Relations for the UFC.

UFC 65 featured former pro boxer Alessio Sakara from Italy.
UFC 165 features former pro boxer Costa Phillippou from Cyprus.

Four fighters will make their debuts at UFC 165: Nandor Guelmino, Daniel Omielanczuk, Jesse Ronson and Wilson Reis.

Three fighters entered UFC 65 with undefeated records: Jake O'Brien, Josh Schockman and Brandon Vera.
UFC 165 also features three perfect fighters: Khabib Nurmagomedov, Myles Jury and Dustin Kimura.
UFC 165 headliner Jon Jones has since defeated both O'Brien and Vera inside the Octagon.

Seven fighters made their UFC debuts at UFC 65: Josh Schockman, Hector Ramirez, Antoni Hardonk, Gleison Tibau, Sherman Pendergarst, Dokonjonosuke Mishima, Drew McFedries,

Champion Tim Sylvia stood 6'8 with an 80" reach.
Champion Jon Jones stands 6'4" with a reach of 84.5".

The big-guy nickname matchup at UFC 65 boiled down to the The Maine-iac vs. The Snowman.
UFC 165's is Bones vs. The Mauler.

UFC 65 featured illustrious former kickboxer Antoni Hardonk; UFC 165 features illustrious former kickboxers Stephen Thompson and John Makdessi.

UFC 165 will the 14th event (and Jones' third title defense) held in Canada. When UFC 65 took place, the company had yet to hold an event in Canada at all.

Georges St-Pierre won the welterweight championship at UFC 65 (watch on UFC.tv). As of UFC 165, he is still the UFC's 170-pound titleholder.
