When and why did you start training for fighting? 2012 – I needed a life change from my Olympic training career.
Training: My training schedule doesn’t change much; I’ve had a recipe that has been working for years now and I see no reason to change it. With respect to specific opponents, my team and I adjust training methods and strategy, but the work and the goal stays the same.
What ranks and titles have you held? Former UFC welterweight champion, three-time NCAA All-American, TUF 21 winner, BJJ black belt
Do you have any heroes? Superman, mom and dad
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It’s a great means for me to provide for my family with the skills I’ve developed.
Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn? University of Nebraska at Kearney – didn’t finish yet (one semester away - Sociology Degree)
What was your job before you started fighting? I worked at the Olympic Training Center as a tour guide
