When and why did you start training for fighting? In 2012, I fell in love with jiu jitsu, and after that with MMA.
What ranks and titles have you held? Shooto Brasil Champion and Fatality Arena Shooto Champion.
Who is your favorite fighter, and why? José Aldo — a total inspiration.
Do you have any heroes? My father, who raised my family.
What does it mean for you to fight in the UFC? It means I’m one of the best fighters in the world.
What are your current ranks in martial arts? Black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career? The next one is always the most important.
Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for? My wife’s social project (Amigos de Ouro).
Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you? Being the best.
What was your job before you started fighting? In restaurants, as a bartender.
Tell us about your life outside of fighting: I have a son and a wife. I love being in nature and I love animals. My hobby is spending time in those places.
